Millner Heritage Winery & Cidery
SECHS in a Bottle
Millner Heritage Winery & Cidery SECHS in a Bottle (7.5% alcohol by volume) is made from a blend of five Minnesota apple varieties grown at Faribault Minnesota's Trumps Orchard and adds juice from the Frontenac Gris grape. The SECHS in the cider's name is six in German and refers to the cider's six ingredients. It is also pronounced "zex" which is close to the word "sex." The cider has a very pleasant mild apple smell with some white wine notes, very mild alcohol and a faint hint of smoke and a very faint buttery note. It has a light fizz and drops brilliant pale gold with a light metallic touch. The cider has a very pleasant blend of several varieties of apple flavor with a light wine note. A moderate acidity balances the sweetness and a light dose of tannins dry the finish slightly. The carbonation is moderate to moderately low - strong enough to refresh but not too strong to mask the cider's flavor. This is a smooth, easy to drink cider with some elegance and sophistication. I rate it 86.
