Omission Pale Ale (Gluten-Free)
Widmer Brothers Brewing Company Omission Pale Ale (5.8% alcohol by volume is a gluten-free American Pale Ale. Omission Pale Ale pours brilliant gold with a thin white head. It smells like a beer with fruit, grain and faint hops. On the palate I can tell the barley malt is missing and I miss it. Fruity hop flavors help out a little bit and the sorghum is struggling to fill in but it still does not taste and feel like barley but has a thinner feel and taste. Omission Pale Ale has above average carnation, medium body and has a trace of chalkiness on the palate. The beer is flavorful and refreshing and might fill in for a barley based beer in a pinch, but barley based amber ales still rule.
