Venn Brewing Company
Batch 134 West Coast DIPA
Venn Brewing Batch 134 West Coast DIPA (8.9% alcohol by volume) is a west coast double (Imperial) IPA brewed with domestic pale malt and Munich malt and packed with Warrior, Columbus and Idaho 7 hops. It was packaged 5 days ago. It has a piny, resiny, minty, dank aroma with traces of fruit and ditch weed. It pours brilliant gold permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 3" off-white foam collar with good retention. A big blast of bitter starts the flavors with piny resin, and citrus coats the tongue slightly softened by some caramel and biscuit malt flavors. The malt flavors fade in the finish as a drying astringent note comes forward. The hop flavors are big and bold with solid support from the malt and fermentation notes. The beer has a body a little above medium and the carbonation is medium. This beer is big, bitter and beautiful. If you find it, buy it. I rate it 90.
