Steel Toe Brewing
Steel Toe Brewing Split-Point Pilsner (5.0% alcohol by volume) has a medium low bready, grainy malt aroma seasoned by medium low spicy floral hops and has a clean lager fermentation aroma profile. It pours pale straw gold permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 2” white cap with good retention. The beer has medium high hop bitterness nicely balanced by the rich malt flavor and moderate grainy sweet malt. Hop bitterness dominates through the medium dry, crisp, well attenuated finish. The hop bitterness is especially delightful. It is assertive but not overpowering, harsh or sharp. The balance is towards the bitter which has a nice long linger. The beer has a medium light body and medium high carbonation. The beer feels good in your mouth and is a beer you can drink all day. It is complex and full flavored but not overboard. It is well made, drinkable, and repeatable – this is a beer that you will want more than one of. I rate this 89 and I normally buy at least one of these whenever I see it.
