True Blonde Ale

Ska Brewing Company True Blonde AleI picked up my can of Ska Brewing Company True Blonde Ale (5.3% alcohol by volume, 20 International Bittering Units) off the singles shelf at France 44 Liquors. It has a best by date 2 months in the future. The beer has mild aromas of bread crumb, fruit, citrus and a hint of honey. It pours brilliant straw with moderately fast rising bubbles and a frothy white foam collar with fair retention. It tastes fruitier than it smells with a lightly sweet big fruit start featuring citrus, tropical fruit and a trace of honey sweetening light bread crumb malt flavors. It finishes juicy, mildly tart and dry with a moderately assertive bitterness. The body is light to medium light and the carbonation is medium high with a moderate prickle. This is a tasty, thirst quenching and refreshing summer beer. I rate it 80.
