Hazy Little Thing IPA

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Hazy Little Thing IPASierra Nevada Brewing Company Hazy Little Thing IPA (6.7% alcohol by volume, 40 International bittering Units) is an unfiltered, unprocessed American IPA bittered with Magnum hops and finished with Citra, Comet, Simcoe, El Dorado and Mosaic hops. Try this with smoked pork slathered with bourbon barbecue sauce or with a sharp cheddar. From an arm's length away, bready malt scented big juicy hop aromas hit the nose. Closer up, tropical fruit, citrus and tangerine become more prominent and a little biscuit smells comes forward. It pours hazy gold under a lacy 3/4" cream colored cap with fair to good retention. Fruit, orange marmalade, tangerine, hard candi, mild alcohol, a hint of pineapple and a trace of honey lie atop a lightly sweet Hostess Twinkie pound cake base flavor. A moderate citrus rind bitterness and a touch of tartness pulls the flavors together at the finish. The beer is very creamy with a medium body and carbonation. The result is nicely done - nothing is over the top - yet it is full of flavor and has you wanting more. I rate it 85.
