Moa Brewing Company
Moa St Josephs
Moa Brewing Company Moa St Josephs (9.5% alcohol by volume) is a New Zealand brewed Belgian Tripel. The beer has a wonderful fruit nose scented with woody earthiness and some berry and a trace of bubblegum. Banana aromas are low to none. It is a slightly hazy dark amber pour under a 2" foam cap with moderate retention. St. Josephs starts out in the nether regions between foam and liquid starting slightly sweet infused with fruit, banana, peach and then it transforms to liquid and dries on the finish. As it warms the banana becomes bigger. Biscuit malt flavors are medium to medium low. Belgian yeast flavors are medium to medium high. Hop flavors and bitterness are medium. This medium light bodied beer has medium high carbonation. There is nothing over the top about this beer but it is easy to drink, nicely put together, very well balanced and nothing is out of place. I rate it 90.
