Lucy Session Sour Ale
My can of Indeed Brewing Company Lucy Session Sour Ale (4.2% alcohol by volume, 27 International Bittering Units) has a best by date 5 days from now. There are no strong hop aromas but the beer smells like fresh bread dough, citrus, tropical fruit, and a mild lactobacillus sourness. It pours nearly opaque hazy gold amber with rapidly rising bubbles around the edges. A 1" ivory frothy foam collar has fair to poor retention. Medium lemony tartness leads the flavors followed by an assertive bitter accent mid-palate. There is also some orange, over ripe fruit and banana. The beer finishes dry and almost astringent. Lucy Session Sour Ale is light, tart, highly carbonated with some prickle, refreshing and easy to drink. This is the beer to grab when the urge for lemonade strikes.
