Space Cake

Clown Shoes Space CakeClown Shoes Space Cake (9.0% alcohol by volume) is similar to Vic Secret Space Cake except that Clown shoes uses Australian Vic Secret hops on the Vic Secret Sapce Cake and Mosaic hops on the Space Cake. The Vic Secret hops giee more grapefruit notes while the Mosaic provide a broader range of aromas and flavors. Space Cake smells like fruit, berry, some herb, spice, biscuit, resin and a tace of dank ditchweed. It pours amber with a moderate haze under a 2" off-white to cream colored lacy foam cap with good retention. It has a big fruit palate with fruit, melon, berry, and tropical fruit with a bready, biscuity malty middle and a big pithy assertive bitter finish. The slight sweetness from the malt knocks the sharp edges off the bitter and the slightly sweet bitter lingers. A trace of hop based astringency also emerges in the finish helping to dry things out a little. Space cake is very creamy with a medium full body and medium, very fine carbonation This is a big, assertive hop forward beer that is a delight to drinik. I rate it 90.
