Clown Shoes American Monastic (8.5% alcohol by volume) pours hazy gold with rapidly rising bubbles producing a healthy, off-white, lacy and persistent foam cap. The beer releases aromas of fruit, a hint of banana, peach and faint smoked ham. Yeast driven fruit aromas are medium, hop and malt aromas are low. Yeast driven fruit flavors drive the palate with a blend of tropical - perhaps mango - and peach. There are no smoke or bacon flavors. Yeast flavors are medium to medium high. Hop bitterness is medium to medium high. Malt flavors are medium low. The body is medium low and creamy soft with slightly above average carbonation. I rate Clown Shoes american Monastic 89.
