Summer Dreamin' Pineapple Guava Milkshake IPA
My crowler of Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative Summer Dreamin' Pineapple Guava Milkshake IPA (6.4% alcohol by volume, 45 International bittering Units) was packaged five weeks ago. Pineapple leads an array of tropical fruit aromas supplemented by medium plus grassy, citrusy hop aromas. It drops hazy straw gold permeated by steams of rapidly rising bubbles and kicking up a an off-white 1" moderately lacy cap with fair retention. It starts mildly sweet with medium high hop flavors and medium plus citrus rind hop bitterness. The texture is creamy and the body is medium full. It is a little oxidized with traces of wet cardboard. New England IPAs are probably good in a crowler for 3 to 7 days before they start degrading so mine was over the hill when I bought it. As it is, I give it a 65. Fresher it might make it to the high 70s.
