Blue Point Brewing Company
Blue Point Brewing Company Toasted Lager (5.5% alcohol by volume, 28 International Bittering Units) is a Vienna Lager. My bottle was packaged 2 months ago. The aromas have a trace of floral hops, light bread crust, traces of biscuit and a hint of DMS (canned corn). Mal aromas are medium, hop aromas are medium minus. This is a very pretty beer, pouring brilliant amber capped by a 1.5" cream colored foam blanket. The head has good retention and the beer is permeated by streams of moderately fast rising bubbles. Slightly sweet malty bread crust starts the flavors with a moderately assertive bitter finish. The malt is rich but not over powering and the finishing bitterness pulls it all together. The beer has a medium body and medium high carbonation. This full flavored lager has a clean fermentation character and a nice lingering malty aftertaste. I rate it 80.
