Winter White Ale
Bell’s Brewery makes their Bell's Winter White Ale (5.0% alcohol by volume) without the added spices typically found in Belgian Wits but they use Belgian yeast. Winter White ale pours a cloudy straw color under a 1/2" off-white foam cap that quickly collapses. With the absence of the orange peel and coriander the clove and fruit flavors from the yeast come forward more with light bread aromas in the background. Light fruit and clove dominate the palate with wheat malt support. This light beer is more crisp than creamy and makes a pleasant, flavorful winter drink. I rate Bell's Winter White Ale 80.
