Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan
Weihenstephaner Original
Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan Weihenstephaner Original (5.1% alcohol by volume) is a Munich helles. It has an earthy, spicy noble hop aroma supported by rich bread and bread crumb. Hop aromas are medium plus and malt aromas are medium low. It ours brilliant yellow permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 2" lacy white foam cap with good retention. The flavors have some light biscuit, light cracker sweetness and bread crumb spice with floral hop flavors that bring a drying bitterness to the finish. The beer is balanced with just enough bitterness to keep the mild sweetness under control. The body is medium light and the carbonation is medium. This beer has very refined, elegant flavors that make a very refreshing and thirst quenching beer. I rate this 80.
