Bells Oarsman Ale
Bell’s Oarsman Ale (4.0% abv) pours a cloudy straw color with the champagne carbonation of a Berliner Weisse. It is lemony, dry, tart and refreshing. It lacks 1809’s barnyard funk and the carbonation is not quite as champagne like or tart as some of the German interpretations but it is very drinkable and much cheaper than many Berliner Weisses. For someone looking for something light, refreshing and not a traditional American Light Lager, this is worth a try. This would be a good beer to spend a day on a boat with. I rate it 80 out of 100.
