American Craft brewers developed this style by adapting the English Pale Ale to
American hops, malt, yeast and water. An easy to drink, accessible malt forward beer with no overly assertive flavors. Alcohol by volume ranges from 3.8 to 5.5%, International Bittering Units run from 15 to 28 and the color is straw to light amber. Blonde Ales have a thin foam cap with good retention. They contain 2 to 2.5 volumes of CO2.
Entrée: Salmon, sushi, chicken
Cheese: Monteray Jack, light nutty cheeses, fresh light cheeses, ricotta, farmer's cheese, cottage cheese, feta, fresh goat, mozzarella, burrata
Dessert: Fruit tarts and cakes
Blonde Ales are nondescript enough that just about any glass will work. Drink from a Libbey Tulip glass at 45 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
