This book has nothing to do with beer. Ludwig Bemelmans, author and illustrator of children’s books – the Madeline books among others – provides a series of tales from between WWI and WWII. He is an entertaining story teller with a marvelous sense of humor and whimsy and develops interesting characters. He has liberally illustrated the book. It’s a fast read, ideal for sitting in a waiting room or lounging on a patio with a small beer or glass of wine.
