Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company
My bottle of Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest (5.1% alcohol by volume) has six weeks unti its best by date. It has rich malt aromas with some corn, a hint of sulfur, and mild bread crust and bread crumb aromas. The malt aromas are medium low and the hop aromas are low. It pours brilliant copper amber under a 1" cream colored white foam cap with fair retention. Streams of rapidly rising bubbles refresh the cap. Very lightly sweetened bread crust, with a hint of light toast and a light trace of caramel lead the flavors to a drying, mildly spicy and slightly bitter hop finish. The beer is moderately creamy and smooth with a medium body and medium plus carbonation. The malt is a little one dimensional but this is a drinkable but not great Oktoberfest. I rate it 70.
