Bank Brewing Company
Bank Brewing Company Pocket Change (6.3% alcohol by volume) is an american IPA and has a North East IPA vibe. It evokes a walk in the woods initially smelling of pine, a light earthiness, and moist humus then citrus aromas and the smell of steeping malt creep through. It fills the glass hazy gold permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 1.5" pure white foam cap that perches up over the lip of the glass. The flavors move from the woods to the produce section featuring rich hop flavors of grapefruit, melon, fruit, citrus, and tropical fruit and a trace of resin. It dries on the finish with a lingering pithy, zesty hop bitterness. The malt provides balance and softens the hop flavors but it knows enough to stay in the background and leave the center stage to the hops. The hop flavors are above average and the hop bitterness is medium. This is a very creamy medium bodied beer with medium carbonation. A very drinkable beer packed with hop flavor. I rate it 85.
